About you

Humanist weddings cradle meaning & create memories unique to you.

Too often the wedding ceremony is considered The Bit to Get Out of The Way. It gets a bit of a bad press, and I can understand why! The words and format have been witnessed dozens of times before, and, because of that, guests hear rather than listen (while cocking an ear for the muffled champagne corks being popped in the distance). That’s simply not good enough!

Your wedding ceremony should reflect the amazing people you are, and that takes time, skill, love – and me.

Thank you Nat, for marrying us in the best, most authentic way ever!

– DANI & BEN

My aim is to make your ceremony the

most enjoyable, most personal, & most memorable part of your wedding day.

“ Our friends and family were blown away by how Nat had captured us as a couple as we laughed and cried our way through the ceremony. ”

– Louisa & Chris

Your humanist ceremony journey

We meet, with no obligation.

I then work out a ceremony structure, and this involves some “homework” from both of you too. We can meet again, or telephone, email, WhatsApp or Zoom, as convenient. The humanist ceremony will develop and crystallise with collaborative input from all three of us.

The process of creating and writing the ceremony itself is a hugely enjoyable experience, and a big part of what makes a humanist ceremony so special. As we all get to know each other, the script organically grows, whilst also giving you a valuable opportunity to really consider what is important to both of you in your relationship.

I always learn a bit about myself in these moments too! It’s a truly human process, and is both uplifting and grounding all at once.

On your wedding day, I will arrive at your venue in plenty of time, make sure that you, your readers and other significant people are comfortable and clear in their roles.

We chat to get to know each other, and for me get a sense of the kind of ceremony that you would love. If you like the cut of my jib, there’s hugs all round, and we get cracking…!

I advise having one ceremony run-through – beforehand or on the day itself. This doesn’t have to be at the venue: I have rehearsed ceremonies elsewhere, and it is still a great thing to do. I know sometimes it’s hard to find time for a rehearsal, but it really does make for a more relaxed and joyous ceremony, allowing you to be more present in the moment without worrying about what’s coming next, where to stand and all that jazz.

Want to know more about our ceremony creation process?

Nat was quite literally the most perfect celebrant we could have asked for.

My partner and I knew from the start that we wanted a humanist ceremony, and also wanted to intertwine elements from the different cultures we identified with in some way (Indian, British, Irish and French). What we didn’t know was exactly how we were going to do that!

Nat worked her magic wonderfully, guiding us, giving us ideas, and really learning everything about us to make it as uniquely us as possible, which it totally was! It ended up being our favourite part of the day, and we’re so glad that we had Nat play such a key role in our wedding – she is an absolutely wonderful human, and now a great friend!
